Yoga Hikes Rosslyn

Yoga Hikes Rosslyn
Back in July!
Rosslyn BID

Yoga Hikes, the Rosslyn Business Improvement District have partnered to make Saturday mornings in Rosslyn even better! Our Urban Yoga Hike in Rosslyn starts and end at the Rosslyn Business Improvement District‘s office across the street from Gateway Park. Our signature Yoga Hikes format of three 15 min. yoga/15 min. hiking intervals for 90 minutes will take you through 5 urban parks (Gateway Park, Highlands Park, Hillside Park, Dark Star Park, and Freedom Park!) and up the hills of Rosslyn, VA.

We meet at the street level offices of the Rosslyn Business Improvement District (BID) located at: 1911 North Fort Myer Drive, LL-10, Arlington, VA 22209 (next door to the side of Continental Pool Lounge facing Gateway Park).

The hiking will be primarily on paved sidewalks, though we will go up hills and numerous steps.  Appropriate footwear is mandatory, but you can wear whatever clothes you would be most comfortable in.  Please note there is no storage area and there are no restrooms on these hikes.  Backpacks or lumbar/fannypacks are best for carrying personal items with you.  Bringing your own water bottle is encouraged.

Thanks for your message. We will not be operating this season, but look out for Krista Mason Yoga, who will be leading hikes in Rock Creek Park.

Highlight of this weekend: first visit to Lake Needwood! Grateful for the green spaces and abundant nature of our region! @MontgomeryParks pic.twitter.com/YAovQ4nLxo

We spent 2 hrs this #LaborDay doing free labor, but we’re all for #volunteering #outdoors to protect the park we love! Freed native trees + a bike rack at Upshur St trail entrance, removing mile-a-minute, porcelain berry, and wineberry! @Crestwood_DC #WeedWarriors @RockCreekNPS pic.twitter.com/fMEFquO5WW

@RockCreekNPS Friends, don’t take the immense environmental value of Rock Creek Park for granted. Heat maps, air and water quality reports are alarming! We desperately need this natural green space as natural green space and so does our region, and planet! It’s barely surviving as it is.

“What kind of mushroom is that?” is asked on many #hikes. Here’s a great opportunity to learn about fungi from a local expert and amazing instructor! twitter.com/ANStweets/stat…

"Use less salt!" is not only a dietary recommendation... Remember this post when winter comes and opt for alternatives to de-cing with salt. @DDOTDC help is also needed to stop wasteful distribution of excess salt on #DC streets. #watershed wapo.st/3dee4Fv
